After finishing her bachelor's degree at Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo as a student of Prof. Sadako Matsuoka, she went to Germany in 1991 and studied with Prof. Klaus Hellwig at the University of Arts in Berlin. Also, she completed her Artist Diploma degree at the University of Music in Karlsruhe with Prof. Wolfgang Manz. After graduating from the university in Germany, she received lessons from Prof. Bruno Canino, in Italy and came back to Japan in 1998. At Toho Gakuen School in Tokyo she made her debut in Brandenburg Ensemble conducted by Alexander Schneider. Since then, she has played with orchestras in Germany and Japan. And, while playing an active role as a soloist and a chamber music player, she has also released two CDs "Schumann, Webern, Berg" and "Chopin Complete Etudes". The coming 2017 spring, she publishes the third CD. Currently she is an associate professor of Toho Gakuen School of Music.

桐朋女子高校音楽科、桐朋学園大学音楽学部、ベルリン芸術大学卒業。 １９９８年カールスルーエ音楽大学大学院修了。秋光豊子、山田朋子、 松岡貞子、クラウス・ヘルヴィッヒ、ヴォルフガング・マンツ各氏に師事したのち、 イタリアにてブルーノ・カニーノ氏に師事。全日本学生音楽コンクール中学生の部 第１位、日本音楽コンクールをはじめ、マリア・カナルス、ブゾーニ、マルサラ各 国際音楽コンクール入選。桐朋学園大学在学中アレクサンダー・シュナイダー氏 と共演したのをはじめ、ベルリン交響楽団、バーデン・バーデンフィル、ゲルハルト・ ボッセ指揮新日本フィル等と共演。１９９８年帰国後、ラジオ録音、リサイタル、 室内楽、国内外で様々な活動を行っている。これまでに２００３年「新井博江 playsシューマン、ウェーベルン、ベルク」２００６年「ショパン・エチュード全２４曲」 をリリース。２０１７年春には３枚目のCDをナミ・レコードよりリリース予定。 桐朋学園大学ピアノ科准教授。
