La violoniste Ju-Young Baek s’est produite dans des salles de renommée mondiale telles que le Carnegie Hall et le Lincoln Center. Elle a également joué avec les plus grands orchestres internationaux, notamment le London Philharmonic, le Royal Philharmonic, le Philadelphia Orchestra et le Budapest Festival Orchestra, entre autres. Elle a participé aux festivals de Marlboro, Ravinia, Aspen et Salzbourg.
Elle est actuellement violon solo de l’Ensemble Opus et a été violon solo des Sejong Soloists. Lauréate de nombreux prix dans des concours prestigieux, Mme Baek a notamment été primée aux Concours internationaux d’Indianapolis, Paganini, Sibelius, Long-Thibaud et Reine Élisabeth. Sa carrière a été lancée après l’obtention du premier prix aux auditions du Young Concert Artists (YCA) à New York ainsi qu’au programme Astral Artists de Philadelphie.
Mme Baek a publié au Japon des enregistrements des concertos pour violon de Brahms et de Bruch, salués par la critique, suivis d’un autre album consacré au répertoire pour violon solo. Son enregistrement des concertos pour violon de Penderecki et de Szymanowski avec le Royal Philharmonic Orchestra a également reçu des critiques enthousiastes à Londres.
Elle est membre du corps professoral du College of Music de l’Université nationale de Séoul depuis 2005, où elle a été nommée la plus jeune professeure de l’histoire de l’établissement. En 2020, à l’occasion du 250ᵉ anniversaire de la naissance de Beethoven, elle est devenue la première violoniste coréenne à enregistrer et publier l’intégrale des sonates pour violon de Beethoven. Elle a également publié en 2022 l’enregistrement de l’intégrale des sonates pour violon seul d’Eugène Ysaÿe.
Elle a récemment participé à la Taiwan Music Academy & Festival ainsi qu’au Ishikawa Music Festival. De plus, depuis 2024, elle a été sélectionnée comme artiste Larsen Strings par le célèbre fabricant de cordes danois et bénéficie du soutien de Larsen Strings.

She has participated in the festivals of Marlboro, Ravinia, Aspen, and Salzburg. She is currently the leader of Ensemble Opus and was the leader of the Sejong Soloists.
Winner of numerous prizes of prestigious competitions, Ms. Baek is a laureate of Indianapolis, Paganini, Sibelius, Long-Thibaud, and Queen Elisabeth International Competitions, to name a few. Her career was launched after winning 1st prize at YCA Auditions in New York City and the Astral Artists of Philadelphia.
Ms. Baek released albums in Japan with Brahms and Bruch concerti to critical acclaim, followed by another solo violin repertoire album. Her recording of Penderecki and Szymanowski violin concerti with Royal Philharmonic, also received rave reviews in London.
She has been on faculty at the College of Music, Seoul National University since 2005, where she was appointed as the youngest professor ever in history.
She became the first Korean violinist who has recorded and released the complete set of Beethoven violin sonatas in 2020, which marked the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth. She also released the recording of the complete sonatas for solo violin by Ysaÿe in 2022.
She has recently participated in Taiwan Music Academy & Festival and Ishikawa Music Festival. In addition, since 2024, she has been selected as a Larsen Strings Artist from Denmark, a world-renowned string manufacturer, and is receiving support from Larsen Strings.
