Korean pianist Youngho Kim had his musical studies at the Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. His teachers include Jin Woo Chung, Byron Janis, Sasch Gorodnitzki, Herbert Stessin and Solomon Mikowsky. During his studies in New York he has won first prizes in the Kosciuzko Chopin Competition, Helen Hart international Competition as well as winning concerto competitions at the Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music. He made his rectal debut at the Terrace Theatre, Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

Since returning to Korea in 1989, Youngho Kim played with all the major orchestras in Korea including KBS Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic, Busan Philharmonic, Korea Symphony and others. He is also an avid chamber music player participating in many festivals. He serves as professor of piano at the Yonsei University in Seoul since 1995.
