La pianiste Amy Lin est reconnue pour ses interprétations issues de la grande tradition viennoise de Mozart, Schubert et Beethoven, héritée de ses deux mentors légendaires : Leon Fleisher (Peabody Conservatory, Master et Artist Diploma) et Gerhard Oppitz (Meisterklassendiplom, Hochschule für Musik de Munich), disciples éminents d’Arthur Schnabel et de Wilhelm Kempff respectivement.

Amy Lin a fait ses débuts en tant que soliste avec le National Symphony Orchestra au Kennedy Center en 1981. Depuis, elle mène une carrière de concertiste dynamique sur quatre continents, se produisant en soliste avec orchestre, en récital et en musique de chambre. Son répertoire est vaste et sa discographie comprend notamment l’intégrale des sonates pour piano de Mozart, les dix sonates pour piano et violon de Beethoven, ainsi que des œuvres de Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Debussy et de compositeurs asiatiques contemporains.
Pédagogue passionnée et engagée, Amy Lin est professeure de piano au Conservatoire (CRR) et à l’Académie Supérieure de Musique (HEAR) de Strasbourg depuis 1998. Elle est régulièrement invitée à donner des masterclasses au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles (KCB) et à l’Université Yale, ainsi que dans d’autres institutions prestigieuses, notamment à l’Université Nationale de Séoul, à la Northwestern University et à la Hochschule für Musik de Weimar. Étudiants des quatre coins du monde viennent travailler avec elle en France et lors de festivals en France, en Espagne et en Italie, où une profonde compréhension musicale et des solutions techniques s’allient à une attention particulière portée aux personnalités artistiques individuelles.
En 2023, Amy Lin a dirigé un projet d’enregistrement et un film documentaire réunissant huit de ses étudiants d’exception, issus de six pays différents. En travaillant étroitement avec le grand compositeur français Hugues Dufourt, ils ont publié l’intégrale de ses œuvres pour piano seul. Ce double CD, paru chez le label allemand Coviello Classics (Darmstadt), a été sélectionné par la Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS) comme l’un des cinq albums ayant marqué la musique classique en 2023. Il a également reçu «Coup de cœur » de l’Académie Charles Cros pour la musique contemporaine en 2023.

Amy Lin made her debut as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in 1981. Since then, she has enjoyed a dynamic performing career across four continents as an orchestral soloist, chamber musician, and recitalist. As a recording artist,
she has released CDs of the complete piano sonatas of Mozart, as well as works by Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Debussy, and contemporary Asian composers.
A passionate and dedicated pedagogue, Amy Lin has been Professor of Piano at the Conservatoire and Académie Supérieure de Musique of Strasbourg, France, since 1998. She is regularly invited to give masterclasses at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (KCB) and Yale University, and has taught at other prestigious institutions, including Seoul National University, Northwestern University, and the Musikhochschule Weimar, among others. Students from around the world come to work with her in France and at festivals in France, Spain, and Italy, where profound musical insight and technical solutions are combined with special attention for individual artistic personalities.
In 2023, Amy Lin led a recording project and documentary film with eight of her outstanding students from six different countries. They worked closely with the great French composer Hugues Dufourt and published his complete piano solo works. This double CD, released by the German label Coviello Classics (Darmstadt), was selected by Swiss Radio and Television (RTS) as one of the five albums that marked classical music in 2023. It also received a “Coup de Cœur” award for contemporary music from the prestigious Académie Charles Cros.
A Fulbright Senior Scholar, Amy Lin spent five months in Brazil in 1996 as a visiting professor, where she taught masterclasses and performed throughout the country.
