Keiko Takeuchi was born into a musical family in Kyoto Japan, and began her musical journey at the tender age of 5 continuing right through to high school.
Keiko attended the Music High School attached to the faculty of music at the
Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. After completion, she continued on at the University for one year and later headed to Germany where she attended The University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich for 2 years.
Striving for excellence, Keiko was admitted to the University of Musik Freiburg and 1972 received first prize at the National Competition of the German Musik Accademies and soon after, graduated with Special Honors.
Keiko had tutors such as Akiko Iguchi, Rosl Schmidt, Edith Picht-Axenfeld, & was mentored by A.Benedetti Michelangeli and G Agosti.
Now back in Japan, Keiko undertook numerous projects such as performing solo, with major orchestras in Japan including chamber music, creating a duo with the late Naoyuki Inoue, another accomplished Pianist.
Performing live in concert, the duo released numerous albums of works by Motzart, Schubert and other various greats. Keiko Takeuchi also released a solo Chopin Album and is currently a professor at Toho Gakuen School of Music.
